The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association invites all alumni, students, faculty and staff to the Unity in Community homecoming celebration. The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association invites all alumni, students, faculty and staff on Friday, Sept. 30 from 11 am to 6 pm to the Unity in Community homecoming celebration. The celebration includes lunch, a free T-shirt (while supplies last) and a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment and attendance prizes. Attendees will also have an opportunity take part in on- and off-site service projects, honoring distinguished alumni and hearing from a grateful patient.

Memorial Celebration
Reflect, remember and celebrate members of the nursing school community we have lost. The memorial will begin outside of the college with a bagpiper leading attendees into the auditorium.
12 p.m. – Commons
Lunch
Enjoy lunch served for all attendees.
Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association is set to present the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Awards to Carrie Jeffries, MPH, MS, RN, ANP-BC, AACRN and Tamara Otey, PhD, RN.

Community Service Project
The theme Unity in Community comes to reality as we host on- and off-site service projects open to all attendees. When RSVPing, select one service project you would like to take part in during the day. Please note that the off-site projects last from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Transportation to and from the sites are provided.  
On-site
Positive Postcards 
Create unique postcards with messages of inspiration, happiness, comfort, or humor for patients and their families to choose. The Arts + Healthcare program has a portable postcard stand that can travel around various locations in the hospital providing messages of encouragement and delight. Rubber stamps, collage materials, paint and embellishments galore!
Port Pillows  
Sew simple pillows for patients with ports. The pillow is used under car seat belt to provide a comfortable barrier between the belt and port. Two sewing machines and gobs of fun fabric will provide a pillow extravaganza!
Off-site
St. Patrick’s Center
Sort food and clothing donations at Missouri’s largest providers of housing, employment and health opportunities for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
International Institute of St. Louis
Work in the donation and shopping room. Sorting and organizing donations for clients, which include immigrants and refugees in St. Louis City and County.
4 – 6 p.m. – Lobby/Commons
Unity in Community Homecoming Celebration
Join students, alumni, faculty and staff for a homecoming celebration with food, fun and dancing. Attendance prizes will be drawn throughout the homecoming celebration portion of the day.
