Going Virtual: A New Tradition to Celebrate Students

May. 13, 2021 By: Goldfarb School of Nursing

Spring Commencement is coming soon to a screen near you, making it the third online graduation ceremony we’ve produced since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the school is at the heart of many traditions for our students and alumni, virtual commencement ceremonies are a new addition to our long history of sending exceptional nurses into the world. Of course, commencement isn’t the only part of student life that’s moved online in the last year. From online nursing classes to virtual nursing interviews, the transition has been both challenging and an opportunity for new ideas.

Online Celebrations Keep Us Connected

With the first virtual commencement under our belts, we turned our attention to ways of keeping students, faculty and alumni connected throughout the year, like our Virtual Homecoming festivities and the upcoming Virtual Class Reunion. By the time that the 2020 Virtual Fall Commencement rolled around, we were ready to put graduates in the spotlight once again.

Upcoming 2021 Spring Commencement

Transitioning commencement ceremonies to online events gives us a chance to honor the achievements of Goldfarb graduates near and far. As we approach the 2021 Spring Commencement, which will be broadcast on May 14th, we hope you’ll consider tuning in to cheer on determined students who have reached their goals in this new world of nursing.
