On Friday, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away from complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer. The second woman appointed to the Supreme Court, her dedication and courage spoke volumes. A tireless women's rights leader, we celebrate her life and legacy. On Friday, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away from complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer. The second woman appointed to the Supreme Court, her dedication and courage spoke volumes. A tireless women's rights leader, we celebrate her life and legacy.

I remember seeing the Supreme Court in action and was impressed by Justice Bader Ginsburg's sharp legal mind and the questions she asked. I also found the repartee between Ginsburg and Scalia to be very interesting and informative. I do not take for granted that I was amidst a historical, inspirational figure in seeing her.

Among Justice Bader Ginsburg's several quotes, one really reverberates during this time, particularly for Goldfarb. "Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you." Goldfarb students, faculty and staff, in many ways, this statement encompasses our intention, to continue to foster leaders in the field of nursing, via our education, research and partnerships—we do this for a greater good and the impact we make in the lives of others.

In many instances, Ruth Bader Ginsburg's serene leadership style, compassion and the drive for a greater good is an example for us all.
