Goldfarb Celebrates Scholarship Donors, Students at Annual Dinner

Goldfarb scholarship donors and recipients to celebrate the generosity that empowers nursing students to reach their potential at Goldfarb. In September, students, faculty and scholarships donors gathered at the campus of Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing to celebrate “Unity in Community” at the school’s homecoming.

The night before homecoming, The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital hosted a dinner for Goldfarb scholarship donors and recipients to celebrate the generosity that empowers nursing students to reach their potential at Goldfarb.

“Every gift for nursing education is a precious investment in the next generation of nurses,” says Dr. Gretchen Drinkard, the Jack Taylor Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and interim dean at Goldfarb. “Our scholarship donors are helping prepare brilliant individuals to meet the complex health care needs of patients for many years to come.”

During the reception, donors, scholarship students and Goldfarb faculty watched an inspiring video featuring two outstanding scholarship recipients, Bree McBride and Hannah Marchbanks.

“I’ve learned firsthand about how a scholarship can change the life of someone who thought they didn’t have a chance to achieve their dreams,” Bree says.

Donors to the Foundation make education possible for some of the best and brightest nursing students in the region. Each year, generous donors provide more than 70 scholarships to Goldfarb so students can translate their compassion, dedication and skill into world-class care for patients.
