The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) program at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing offers one of the leading programs in the country.

1) Flexible Curriculum with Online and Face-to-Face Learning
Core courses are taken online, while specialty and clinical courses are face to face. Online learning provides students the convenience and flexibility of online courses, but when it comes to specialty learning, there is no replacing the rich interactions with other students and the active learning opportunities facilitated by experienced faculty that a face to face environment provides. After all, caring for high acuity patients requires interpersonal communication skills and the ability to apply knowledge that online training alone cannot provide. 

2) Two Fast Tracks to Meet Your Needs
Students who enter the Goldfarb School of Nursing AGACNP program with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing can complete it in just 27 months. Students with a Master’s degree in nursing usually complete the AGACNP program in as little as 12 months.

3) Small Class Sizes Equal Individualized Attention   
With the lowest student-to-faculty ratios in the area, faculty are readily available and able to provide individualized attention to help students progress through the program. 

4) Prearranged Clinical Hours
While many schools leave it up to the students to arrange their own clinical preceptorships, Goldfarb School of Nursing is the only schools in the region that secures appropriate preceptors and diverse clinical sites to help students meet program goals. Clinicals take place in a variety of patient care areas within Barnes-Jewish Hospital, one of the top hospitals in the country. 6) Able Work While Enrolled in The Program
Most students are able to maintain full- or part-time employment while progressing through the core courses. However, part-time employment, at most, is recommended when students begin the specialty courses due to the increased demands of course work and clinicals.

In 2015, the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification exam pass rate for Goldfarb School of Nursing students was 100%.
