Accelerated Option

An intensive, one-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program that ensures students who have a bachelor's degree in a field outside of nursing can make the transition from education to practice faster.

Overview

The accelerated nature of this program ensures our students make the transition from education to practice faster. Designed for highly motivated students who already have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing—from biochemical engineering to performance arts—this program builds on your previous education and learning experiences.

Admission requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on core prerequisites
  • Minimum of 27 credit hours in the following core prerequisites. (Note: Anatomy and Physiology I & II and Microbiology must have been taken within the last seven years. Core prerequisites may not have been taken more than twice within the last five years.)
    • Anatomy and Physiology I with lab**
    • Anatomy and Physiology II with lab**
    • Microbiology with lab**
    • Nutrition*
    • Statistics*
    • General Psychology*
    •  Human Growth and Development*
    • English Composition I*

*Core prerequisite.
**Core science prerequisites completed through StraighterLine must be finished before Jan. 1, 2026 to be eligible.
