Our country is in the middle of a mental health crisis. Nearly one in five American adults will have a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year. That includes 42.5 million adults with anxiety and 21 million adults with depression. Various forms of mental illness — from mild to severe — touches nearly every family. In fact, 46% of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition sometime in their life.

“In April 2020, Barnes Jewish Hospital – Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College (GSON) certified its agreement to participate in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act: Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. Goldfarb School of Nursing received a total of $3,445,719 to-date, of which $1,563,092 is to be used to provide CARES Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students and $1,882,627 is to be used for CARES Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Institutions.”
