Technological Transformation Reimagines Nursing Education
To keep up with the changing healthcare world, nursing education is being reimagined at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing.
The College is leading a technological transformation by modernizing and expanding its existing nationally recognized Clinical Simulation Institute with state-of-the-art simulation labs and classroom environments.
After extensive staff training led by Clint Mettlach, director of simulation at the College, the labs opened for student education in April.
Scholarship Honors Homer G. Phillips Hospital Nurses
After joining Goldfarb School of School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, Nancy Ridenour, PhD, APRN, FAAN, The Maxine Clark and Bob Fox President, began to search for ways to help the underserved and increase the number of Black nursing students. She found inspiration in “The Color of Medicine,” a documentary about the historic Homer G. Phillips Hospital that served the St. Louis Black community from 1937 until 1979. Named after its major benefactor, a St. Louis-based Black lawyer and civil rights advocate, Homer G. Phillips Hospital was the world’s largest Black hospital of its time.

Goldfarb Announces Recipients of BJC Bright Futures Scholarship
ST. LOUIS, MO - Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing is excited to announce the first recipients of the newly established BJC Bright Futures Scholarship.
“We had an overwhelming response with many well-deserving applicants,” said Stacy Bogier, director of enrollment management at Goldfarb. “These students are dedicated to their education and the field of nursing. We are honored to award these individuals with scholarships for all their hard work and dedication.”
