Homecoming 2017

The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association invites alumni, students, faculty and staff to the annual Homecoming celebration on Friday, September 29 from 11 am to 6 pm. This year's theme is Caring Ways, with the celebration taking place at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College Duncan Campus site located at 4483 Duncan Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.

Memorial Celebration
Reflect, remember and celebrate members of the nursing school community we have lost. 

12 pm – Commons

Attendees will have an opportunity to hear Patrick White, MD, chief medical officer for BJC Hospice and Colleen Gilmore, RN, MSN, ANP-BS, nurse practitioner with BJC Hospice, speak about BJC’s hospice program and the importance of nurses to the program.  

Distinguished Alumni Award 
The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association is set to present the 2017 Distinguished Alumni Awards to Patricia Steen Eckart, RN (Class of 1958) and Captain Jeremy Nelson, BSN, RN (Class of 2012).

Community Service Project
The theme Caring Ways comes from the College’s newly established Core Values. It embodies how we flourish, serving life together. To support this, we will host on and off-site service projects open to all attendees. (When you register, select which service project you would like to take part in during the day.)

On-site
Positive Postcards 
Create unique postcards with messages of inspiration, happiness, comfort, or humor for patients, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and their families.

Gratitude Magnets
Make easy and fun magnets for patients at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Care Packages 
Assemble care packages for families with children in the NICU at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, clients of Kingdom House and Barnes-Jewish Hospital staff for weather emergencies. 

Off-site (transportation provided)
Kingdom House
Work in the food pantry at help organize donations in the thrift shop at this organization that works with the economically disadvantaged.

International Institute of St. Louis
Work in the donation and shopping room, sorting and organizing donations for clients, which include immigrants and refugees in St. Louis City and County.

Goldfarb School of Nursing - West Campus Site
Get a tour of Goldfarb’s newest campus site and assemble care packages for Missouri Baptist Medical Center’s cancer patients.

3:30 – 6 pm – Commons
Caring Ways Homecoming Celebration
Can’t make the whole day, but still want to celebrate? Stop in after work, or after school. Join students, alumni, faculty and staff for a homecoming celebration with food, fun and dancing! You will also have a chance to win some great attendance prizes, including: an iPad, Echo Dot, Quick Trip and Panera gift cards and more!
