Beginning of the Summer 2019 term, May 6, 2019, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College will no longer be using Blackboard as our learning management system (LMS). The College will be using a new LMS, Canvas.
What does this mean for you?
For Students: Your Summer 2019 courses will be available to you on Canvas starting two weeks prior to the start of the term. More information will be coming as the summer term approaches!

For Faculty: Canvas User Lunch 'n' Learns and Workshops are available to faculty. Please visit the Faculty and Staff page for an updated schedule.

Accessing Canvas
Canvas can be accessed in two ways: 1) through the Canvas link in GUS Connect or 2) through a direct link to Canvas. Use your GUS Connect username and password to log in to Canvas. Canvas works best in Google Chrome and Safari.


Note: New students will not have a GUS Connect username and password until two weeks prior to the start of their first term. If you need help logging in, please contact BJC-IS at 314.362.4700 or

Canvas Student Orientation Course
All Goldfarb students are strongly recommended to complete the Canvas Student Orientation Course. To enroll in the Canvas Student Orientation Course, follow these steps: 
1. Click the link below. 
2. Log in to Canvas using your GUS Connect username and password. 
3. Click the “Enroll in Course” button. 
4. Click the “Go to Course” button to get started!

Canvas Support
Get assistance for Canvas issues by clicking on the "Help" link in the lower left corner of the screen in Canvas (from the place where you are having the problem), and then choose "Report a Problem." The submitted information is immediately forwarded to Canvas Support, which is monitored 24/7.

Any reported problem that cannot be solved by Canvas Support will be forwarded to Goldfarb's Instructional Technology and Information Systems departments. These departments will respond to problems during normal business hours.

**PLEASE NOTE: Responses to your Canvas Help Request will be sent to your official college email ( If you have additional questions or problems, please respond to the message in your official college email.**

Other Ways to Contact Canvas Support​
Chat & Hotline: From the Help menu, choose either "Chat with Canvas Support" or "Canvas Support Hotline" to talk to Canvas Support. These options are available 24/7.

Canvas Guides: From the Help menu, choose "Search the Canvas Guides" to find answers to common questions.

Additional Help
Find it at the Library: From the Help menu, choose either "Find it at the Library" to access the Goldfarb's Library homepage. From this page, you can search all Library resources, or use the "Ask the Librarian" form to submit a request for help from Goldfarb's librarians.

Ask Your Instructor a Question: Use this link to submit a question to your instructor. **Please note: Click this link when you've accessed the Help menu from within the course you are having the problem in.**
