Verna Hendricks-Ferguson, PhD, RN, professor at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, received an R21 grant of $291,106 from the National Institutes of Health – National Institute of Nursing Research (NIH-NINR) to determine the best strategy and time period for health care providers to discuss palliative care and end-of-life information with parents of children with brain tumors who have a poor prognosis.

Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College (Barnes-Jewish College) has received approval from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to offer the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing program. It is the first nursing school in the nation to offer a concurrent, totally integrated dual terminal nursing degree.
