2014 Homecoming in Review: Celebration of History, Alumni and Nursing
Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College hosted their annual homecoming event on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014. During the “Our Time in History” themed homecoming event, alumni, students, faculty and staff spent the day celebrating the College’s history and contributions made over time to the nursing community.
The day-long Homecoming celebration featured a service project connected to the stl250 celebration and a distinguished alumni awards ceremony. The awards recognition included:
Marlene Rosenkoetter, PhD, CNS, RN, FAAN
Barnes Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1954
Barbara J. Riegel, DNSc, RN, FAAN, FAHA
Jewish Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1964
Among other event highlights, attendees had the opportunity to view artifacts found in a time capsule discovered in the old Jewish Hospital School of Nursing building, which was recently removed for the Washington University Medical Center Campus Renewal Project.
The day concluded with a party, including food, fun and dancing. Dr. June Cowell-Oats, director of alumni affairs and program officer reflects on the day remembering, “It was a wonderful event full of alumni remembering their time spent on campus and the College celebrating our rich history”.
