The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association invites all alumni and students to Full Sail Ahead homecoming celebration on Friday, October 9 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. The celebration will take place at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College Duncan Campus site located at 4483 Duncan Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.

Memorial Celebration
Reflect, remember and celebrate members of the nursing school community we have lost. The memorial will begin outside of the college with a bagpiper leading attendees into the auditorium.

Service Project
Join the college's Student Council and Student Nursing Association for an annual on-site service project. This year, the service project will support needs of Gateway 180 and the NICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital

12 p.m. – Commons
Enjoy a lunch served to all registered attendees.

Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association is set to present the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Awards.

2 – 4 p.m. – Plaza Auditorium
Speaker Series: Assistive Technology in Health Care 
Hear from three exciting speakers on how assistive technology is advancing medical science, patient care and education. 

4 pm – Lobby
Dedication of “Full Sail” Sculpture
A commissioned piece of art, created and donated specifically to the college, will be dedicated during this time. The piece, entitled "Full Sail", contains elements of the college's past, present and future while celebrating the nursing profession.  

4:30 – 7 p.m. – Front Lawn 
Full Sail Ahead Homecoming Celebration
Join students, alumni, faculty and staff for a homecoming celebration with food, fun and dancing.

2014 Homecoming in Review: Celebration of History, Alumni and Nursing

Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College hosted their annual homecoming event on Friday, Oct. 10, 2014. During the “Our Time in History” themed homecoming event, alumni, students, faculty and staff spent the day celebrating the College’s history and contributions made over time to the nursing community.

The day-long Homecoming celebration featured a service project connected to the stl250 celebration and a distinguished alumni awards ceremony. The awards recognition included:

Marlene Rosenkoetter, PhD, CNS, RN, FAAN
Barnes Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1954

Barbara J. Riegel, DNSc, RN, FAAN, FAHA
Jewish Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1964

Among other event highlights, attendees had the opportunity to view artifacts found in a time capsule discovered in the old Jewish Hospital School of Nursing building, which was recently removed for the Washington University Medical Center Campus Renewal Project.

The day concluded with a party, including food, fun and dancing. Dr. June Cowell-Oats, director of alumni affairs and program officer reflects on the day remembering, “It was a wonderful event full of alumni remembering their time spent on campus and the College celebrating our rich history”.
