Commencement

The beautiful Powell Hall is located in St. Louis at 718 North Grand Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103. Directions and parking information are available at their website. For commencement participants and guests, parking is available at various surface lots in the area, for which there will be a charge. Metered parking is also available on the street; however, be sure to deposit sufficient money as metered parking is monitored on Saturdays. 

STUDENTS ONLY should enter through the stage doors located on Delmar to receive name cards and to line up for the processional. Students should arrive at Powell by 8:15 a.m. Please note there is no location to secure your valuables during the ceremony; please leave them at home or with your guests.

GUESTS should enter through the main doors, which will open at 8:30 a.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests should be made aware that the ceremony will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are NOT required; you may bring as many guests as you like.

Announcements and Custom Stoles: If you wish to order graduation announcements, or a custom stole to be worn at commencement, you may do so at: www.herffjones.com/college/graduation

Caps and Gowns: You do not need to place an order in advance for your cap and gown. The Matthews Bookstore will have caps, gowns and hoods available for pick up at Goldfarb School of Nursing during designated times before commencement. Please visit their website for more details on pick up dates and times. Or, you may call the bookstore at (314) 367-5757 if they have any questions regarding pickup only. If you are participating in the ceremony you MUST pick up your cap and gown before the ceremony. The cost for caps and gowns is included in the graduation fee which is/was charged in your final term.
Caps and gowns will not be available on the day of the ceremony.

Diplomas: You will receive a diploma cover at Commencement. If you have not already received one, your diploma will be ordered upon degree conferral. It will be available at the Registration Office approximately four weeks after Commencement or can be mailed to you at your request. A postcard will be sent to you notifying you when diplomas have arrived.
Please make sure the College has your correct address if you move after Commencement. The name printed on your diploma will be the name that has been printed on your schedules and grade mailers – please contact Registration immediately if your name is incorrect.

Commencement photographer: A professional photographer will take pictures as you receive your diploma as well as a posed picture after descending the stage. Proofs will be available for viewing 24 hours after the ceremony for up to 6 months, and orders can be placed using on the photographer’s website: www.kabancephoto.com.
