The MSN Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Concentration is for BSN-prepared registered nurses interested in becoming an advanced practice nurse focusing on caring for the adult patient.

The program builds upon a foundation in theory, research, ethics, and health policy to advance students’ understanding of clinical decision-making needed in advanced practice roles. Clinical experiences are conducted in clinics, physicians’ offices and other primary care settings in the St. Louis area.

Through the program, students will be educationally and clinically prepared to provide care for well adults, as well as diagnose, treat and manage adults with acute and chronic conditions.

Graduates of the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Concentration will be eligible to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification exams to become certified in the field.
