Greetings:
It is with great enthusiasm and encouragement that I welcome you to the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College. The College continues in our exciting journey of growth and development. We have a proud past and a promising future. We encourage you to explore fully the many possibilities of your relationship to the College.
Goldfarb School of Nursing seeks to develop the most innovative educational programs of the very highest quality, to advance knowledge in the discipline of nursing through relevant research, to set incomparable standards for clinical service and practice, and to prepare graduates to assume leadership roles in health care delivery. We invite you to join us in making this vision a stunning reality.
The College is proceeding with a structured plan of growth with a diverse faculty, staff and student body to address the needs of the healthcare delivery system. We seek to become a top tier nursing school, mirroring the top tier status of Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine.
Our degree offerings consist of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs and the dual degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. We currently have three options for the BSN: the accelerated option for students who already have a baccalaureate degree in another field plus the College prerequisite courses, the upper division option for students who have completed their general education prerequisites in another college or university, and the BSN completion option for Registered Nurses who do not yet have the BSN degree. There are multiple concentrations for the MSN: the Nurse Educator concentration, the Nurse Executive concentration and the Adult Health Nurse Practitioner concentration. We also have two additional MSN concentrations, which are in partnership with the Washington University School of Medicine, the Nurse Anesthesia concentration and the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner concentration
We have an outstanding faculty, committed staff, and a progressive Board of Trustees. The possibilities appear limitless if we continue to work together for a better future. In January 2008, the first classes began in our spectacular 40-million dollar state-of-the-art facility. We hope you will join us and be part of this ambitious undertaking as we establish excellence in the education of nursing professionals.
We have an excellent tradition of finding ways to engage hard working, bright students in pursuit of careers in nursing. We constantly strive to provide an outstanding educational foundation. We offer a heritage of substantial recognition, alumni appreciation, unparalleled community and healthcare resources, and lucrative employment upon completion of your degree. If you are seriously committed to becoming a competent, confident, compassionate, and caring nursing professional, explore the expanding possibilities at the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College.
Sincerely,
