Gail Rea, PhD, RN
Assistant Dean of Pre-Licensure Programs and Professor

Dr. Gail Rea was named Assistant Dean for Pre-Licensure Programs and Professor in May 2007.
Dr. Rea began her career as a critical care nurse and a faculty member at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She then served as the director of critical care services at the University of Nevada Medical Center - Las Vegas for four years.
With 30 years of experience as a nurse educator, Dr. Rea has been a leader in promoting evidence-based nursing practice through collaborations between Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the Siteman Cancer Center. She has also served on a number of advisory boards to establish collaborations between the College, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Washington University School of Medicine, the Siteman Cancer Center, and Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
In addition, Dr. Rea has presented at a number of conferences nationally and internationally and provided consultation to many nursing programs regarding the integration of simulation into baccalaureate nursing programs and evidence-base practice.
