Developing and Evaluating Clinical and Classroom Competence – It’s Easier Than You Think!
This one day interactive workshop is designed for nurse educators in all educational programs as well as other health care educators. The program will provide you with evidenced-based skills and practices for evaluating clinical competence, including cognitive measures to ensure students’ success. Changes to the 2010 NCLEX-RN® Test Plan and the plan to add new clinical judgment item formats will be discussed.
Upon completion of this workshop, the participant will be able to:
• Discuss best practices for evaluating clinical competence, including cognitive measures
• Describe how to develop a test blueprint based on course objectives
• Develop NCLEX-style items based on the NCLEX-RN® 2010 detailed test plan
• Analyze summary statistics to make decisions about test reliability and item revisions
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Donna Ignatavicius, MS, RN, ANEF
Donna Ignatavicius is nationally and internationally recognized as an expert in nursing education through her work experience, publications and speaking engagements. Donna is a celebrated author of nursing text books, and has published multiple book chapters and journal articles. She is also highly acclaimed for her Boot Camp for Nurse Educators© conducted over the past six years.
