The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association invites you to Full Sail Ahead homecoming celebration on Friday, October 9 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. The celebration will take place at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College Duncan Campus site located at 4483 Duncan Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.

Memorial Celebration
Reflect, remember and celebrate members of the nursing school community we have lost. The memorial will begin outside of the college with a bagpiper leading attendees into the auditorium.

Service Project
Join the college's Student Council and Student Nursing Association for an annual on-site service project. This year, the service project will support needs of Gateway 180 and the NICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital

12 – 1:30 p.m. – Lobby/Commons
Enjoy a box lunch served for all attendees.

Distinguished Alumni Awards
The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association is set to present the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award.

State of the College
Michael Bleich, PhD, RN, FAAN, Maxine Clark and Bob Fox dean at Goldfarb School of Nursing and president of Barnes-Jewish College, to update attendees on the future of the college.

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. – Plaza Auditorium
Lighting the path to cancer detection and therapy 
Samuel Achilefu, PhD, professor of radiology and of biomedical engineering at Washington University will speak about the hi-tech glasses he developed to help surgeons visualize cancer cells during surgery.

4 pm – Lobby
Dedication of “Full Sail” Sculpture
A commissioned piece of art, created and donated specifically to the college, will be dedicated during this time. The piece, entitled "Full Sail", contains elements of the college's past, present and future while celebrating the nursing profession.  

4:30 – 7 p.m. – Lobby/Commons
Full Sail Ahead Homecoming Celebration
Join students, alumni, faculty and staff for a homecoming celebration with food, fun and dancing.

Open Space Activities

Open Space is a one-day-per-week block of time to develop and infuse knowledge and experiences that contribute to personal and professional development as a learning community of students, alumni, faculty and staff. Time is allocated each Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for these activities, which includes student association meetings, individual coaching/counseling and other activities.
