St. Louis is the 18th largest metropolitan area in the United States with more than 2.6 million people, while boasting the sixth lowest cost of living rate in the nation. It is home to several corporate headquarters and 19 Fortune 1,000 companies in various sectors including health care, biotechnology, consumer goods, financial services, utilities, and manufacturing. Unlimited arts, culture and outdoor attractions

Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College is within walking distance of Forest Park, the crown jewel of St. Louis and one of the largest urban parks in the United States. Forest Park is home to the Saint Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Science Center, the Saint Louis Art Museum, The Muny, and the Missouri History Museum. You can also enjoy the outdoors on its golf courses, walking paths, bike trails, ice skating rink and multi-sports fields.

Our campus is only a few blocks from the Grand Center, the core of St. Louis’ art district. The area includes a diverse range of museums, galleries and performing arts centers. Take in a Broadway musical at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, enjoy a masterpiece by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at the Powell Symphony Hall, or watch a performance by The Black Rep, the nation’s largest, professional African-American theatre company.

If you love sports, St. Louis is your town. From St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey to Rams football, there is something for every sports fan to enjoy.

St. Louis is home to renowned, world-class academic medical centers, hospitals and research institutions where clinical and research breakthroughs take place every day. Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College is located on the campus of Washington University Medical Center, along with our partners:

We are also affiliated with BJC HealthCare, the state's largest employer and one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States.
