Nurse Executive
Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College offers the Master of Science in Nursing Nurse Executive Concentration for BSN-prepared registered nurses interested in pursuing leadership positions in a variety of health care settings.
The Nurse Executive Concentration prepares students to assume complex professional roles in a variety of settings by integrating prior learning with advanced discipline-specific coursework and clinical experiences.
The program includes courses, seminars and practicum experiences that incorporate knowledge about the economy of health care, and skills in collaboration, management and leadership in order to impact health care delivery.
Practicum experiences are conducted with preceptors at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, or with an administrator in another health care setting whom the student has identified.
Graduates of the Nurse Executive Concentration may be involved in building teams, leading departments, and in developing and implementing clinical programs that improve patient care delivery.
Upon completion of required experience, graduates will be eligible to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) exams to become certified in the field.
