Adult Nurse Practitioner
Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College offers the Master of Science in Nursing Adult Nurse Practitioner Concentration for BSN-prepared registered nurses interested in pursuing advanced nursing roles focusing on caring for the adult patient.
The Adult Nurse Practitioner Concentration prepares students to assume complex professional roles in a variety of settings by integrating prior learning with advanced discipline-specific coursework and clinical experiences.
The Adult Nurse Practitioner Concentration builds upon a foundation in theory, research, ethics, and health policy to advance students’ understanding of clinical decision-making needed in advanced practice roles.
Clinical experiences are conducted in clinics, physicians’ offices and other primary care settings in the St. Louis area.
Through the program, students will be educationally and clinically prepared to provide care for well adults, as well as diagnose, treat and manage adults with acute and chronic conditions.
Graduates of the Adult Nurse Practitioner Concentration will be eligible to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification exams to become certified in the field.
